Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder fighter jet drew significant global attention at the Dubai Airshow, where Pakistan also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to sell the aircraft to a friendly country, marking a major milestone in defence cooperation.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu attended the airshow and held meetings with the heads of air forces from various partner nations. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), he also met senior military leadership of the United Arab Emirates to discuss collaboration in training, aerospace technology and operational coordination.

Both sides expressed strong interest in expanding defence ties. The UAE’s military leadership praised Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) innovation, indigenous capability and technical advancement. The meetings reaffirmed commitments to strengthen joint exercises, professional exchanges and future partnerships.

The Pakistan Air Force contingent made a prominent appearance at the event, showcasing its operational strength and homegrown aerospace achievements. The JF-17 Thunder remained a major attraction at the airshow, drawing attention from military experts, aviation enthusiasts and global defence delegations.

Signing of the MoU for JF-17 procurement is being described as a significant step forward for Pakistan’s defence exports. The agreement underscores growing international trust in Pakistan’s aerospace engineering and reinforces its presence in the global defence market.

Officials say the new deal will further enhance defence cooperation with partner nations while highlighting the JF-17’s competitive capabilities in modern air combat. The aircraft’s performance, cost-efficiency and advanced features continue to make it a strong choice for countries seeking reliable fighter solutions.
