A Lahore High Court judge has recused himself from hearing the bail petition of popular YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, in a case related to the alleged promotion of an online gambling application.
The case was scheduled before Justice Farooq Haider, who declined to hear it and referred the file to the Chief Justice for reassignment to another bench. The decision means that further proceedings on the bail plea will be heard by a different judge.
During the hearing, Investigation Officer Asif Javed presented the case record in court. The petition names the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) and other relevant authorities as respondents.
According to Ducky Bhai’s legal team, the NCCIA arrested him at the airport despite knowing he was scheduled to travel abroad. The defense further argued that the agency had not issued any prior notice or summons before making the arrest. The YouTuber reportedly spent 10 days in NCCIA’s custody under physical remand for investigation.
The case has drawn significant public and media attention, given Ducky Bhai’s large following on social media and the broader debate surrounding influencer accountability and online gambling promotions in Pakistan.
