Pakistan’s pride, the Lyari Football Academy (LFA), returned home to a hero’s welcome after securing the silver medal at the prestigious Singa Cup 2025 — Asia’s largest youth football tournament held in Singapore.

At Karachi International Airport, the young footballers and team officials were greeted with flower garlands, cheers, and chants of “Pakistan Zindabad!” Admirers showered the players with petals, celebrating their hard-fought achievement on the international stage.

Member of Sindh Assembly, Muhammad Farooq, personally welcomed the team, praising their dedication and performance. He lauded the players for bringing honor to Pakistan despite limited resources and financial constraints, calling them “the true pride of Lyari and the entire nation.”

LFA President Sheikh Abdul Rahman expressed gratitude to the Sindh government and Provincial Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar, urging continued financial and institutional support for the young athletes so they can continue to shine at national and global levels.

Several notable figures, including Sufyan Dilawar, Syed Jawad Shoaib, Jan Muhammad Baloch, and Zohaib Hussain Baloch, were also present to congratulate the team.

The Lyari Football Academy competed in the Boys Under-16 category, finishing as runners-up among 160 teams from 13 countries. The 15th edition of the Singa Cup also made history by introducing para-football events for the first time, further expanding the tournament’s global inclusivity.
