Karachi’s e-challan system continues to intensify enforcement across the city, with fresh data submitted to senior officials revealing that more than 61,850 digital fines have been issued so far.

According to the official figures, 589 government vehicles have been fined through the e-challan system, while 118 Sindh Police vehicles and mobiles were also penalized for various violations.

The report further details that 964 heavy vehicles were fined for traffic violations. Additionally, the system recorded 11,000 challans against motorcyclists riding without helmets, marking one of the most common offenses in the city.

Seatbelt violations remain the highest category, with 41,431 e-challans issued to drivers not wearing seatbelts.

The data also highlights 2,200 challans for signal violations, 1,447 challans for using mobile phones while driving, and 795 e-challans issued for vehicles with tinted windows.

Authorities say the system aims to enforce safer driving habits and reduce road accidents by improving accountability through digital monitoring.
