Pakistan defeated South Africa by seven wickets in the third and final One Day International (ODI), sealing the three-match series 2–1 with a commanding performance at Iqbal Stadium.
Batting first, South Africa were bowled out for 143 runs in 50 overs, as Pakistan’s bowlers dominated from the start. In reply, Pakistan comfortably chased down the target in just 25.1 overs, losing only three wickets to reach 144/3.
South Africa’s innings saw Quinton de Kock top-score with 53 runs, while Luhan-Dre Pretorius added 39. However, Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack left no room for recovery.
Abrar Ahmed starred with the ball, taking 4 wickets, while Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Nawaz, and Agha Salman picked up two wickets each, dismantling South Africa’s batting lineup with precision and control.
In Pakistan’s chase, Saim Ayub shone with a superb 77-run knock that anchored the innings. Captain Babar Azam contributed 27 runs before being run out, and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan remained not out on 32, steering the team to victory with confidence.
Pakistan’s balanced bowling attack and aggressive batting display ensured South Africa never found a way back into the match. The victory not only secured the series for Pakistan but also boosted the team’s morale and form ahead of future international fixtures.
