Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly received Saudi Arabia’s Chief of General Staff, General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, during a high-level meeting in Islamabad. The visit underscored the deepening strategic cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif extended best wishes to the Saudi leadership and reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to further strengthen bilateral ties. He praised the Kingdom’s steadfast support for Pakistan in regional and international matters, describing the relationship as one built on shared faith, mutual trust, and unwavering solidarity.
The Prime Minister also highlighted his "highly successful" visits to Riyadh over the past two months, noting that these engagements had opened new avenues of cooperation and political understanding between the two nations.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to expanding defence collaboration, the Prime Minister stressed the need to advance joint strategic initiatives. General Al-Ruwaili conveyed warm greetings from the Saudi leadership and reiterated the Kingdom’s strong desire to elevate defence and strategic partnership to new heights.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, and senior officials from both sides.
Discussions focused on security cooperation, bilateral defence initiatives, and coordinated strategic planning. Both sides reaffirmed their determination to enhance defence ties and build a more robust partnership for regional stability.
