A powerful explosion rocked the premises of the Nowgam Police Station in Srinagar, Indian-occupied Jammu & Kashmir, sparking a massive fire and causing significant destruction. According to Indian media reports, the blast occurred after a stockpile of seized ammonium nitrate unexpectedly detonated.
At least eight people have been reported injured so far, while officials warn that the number could rise as rescue operations continue. Initial assessments suggest extensive damage inside the police station, with several vehicles completely engulfed in flames and parts of the building suffering severe destruction.
Authorities have expressed concern over possible fatalities, though no official confirmation has yet been issued. Emergency teams are working to control the fire, secure the area, and investigate the cause of the explosion.
