A tragic road accident occurred in Karachi when a speeding dumper truck fatally struck a pedestrian on Nishter Road, leaving one man dead and his wife injured. The incident sparked public outrage as angry residents set the dumper on fire following the crash.
According to police officials, the deceased has been identified as Shahzaib, a resident of Garden, while his wife sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police confirmed that the driver fled the scene but was later arrested. The suspect, identified as Niaz Hussain, has been shifted to the Garden Police Station for further investigation.
Authorities said that a criminal background check of the suspect is underway, and CCTV footage from the accident site has been obtained to determine the exact cause of the incident.
