Trump Promises $2,000 Dividend Payments to Most Americans from Tariff Revenues

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that most American citizens will receive a minimum of $2,000 each as dividend payments from revenue generated through U.S. tariffs.

In a post shared on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Sunday, Trump stated that the U.S. is earning trillions of dollars through tariffs and will soon begin paying off its massive $37 trillion national debt. He clarified that only high-income individuals will be excluded from receiving the payments.

“We are making trillions of dollars and will soon start paying down our $37 trillion debt. Everyone (except those with higher incomes) will receive at least $2,000,” Trump wrote.

According to international media, the U.S. Supreme Court is currently reviewing the legality of the tariffs imposed by Trump during his presidency. Lower courts had previously ruled several of those duties as unlawful.

Trump’s latest announcement echoes his earlier remarks in an October interview, where he proposed distributing $1,000 to $2,000 to citizens annually from tariff revenues. He claimed the tariffs could generate over $1 trillion in income for the country each year.

If implemented, the plan could mark one of the most ambitious direct payment programs in U.S. history, potentially reshaping public debate around trade policy and national debt management.
