The Sindh Health Department has confirmed two new dengue-related deaths within the past 24 hours, raising concerns over the continued spread of the virus across the province.

According to the department’s spokesperson, a total of 5,742 dengue tests were conducted during the last 24 hours, out of which 1,558 results came back positive. The highest number of cases was recorded in Karachi Division, where 758 infections were detected from 4,010 tests. Meanwhile, Hyderabad Division reported 800 positive cases from 1,732 tests.

To manage the outbreak, the provincial government has allocated 895 beds in public hospitals and 329 beds in private hospitals for dengue patients. In Karachi alone, 251 beds have been reserved, followed by 116 in Hyderabad and 528 across interior Sindh.

During the current month, 2,090 confirmed cases have been reported across Sindh, pushing the total number of dengue infections in 2025 to 2,735. Karachi remains the most affected city with 1,005 cases, followed by 938 in Hyderabad, 114 in Mirpurkhas, 14 in Shaheed Benazirabad, 13 in Sukkur, and 6 in Larkana.
