Bajaur Operation: Five Terrorists Killed, Major Adeel Zaman Martyred in Fierce Gun Battle

Security forces have killed five militants during an intelligence-based operation in the Khar area of Bajaur district, while a Pakistan Army officer embraced martyrdom during an intense exchange of fire. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major Adeel Zaman was martyred while leading troops against terrorists linked to ongoing violent activities in the region.


The ISPR stated that the slain militants were actively involved in terrorist attacks and the killing of innocent civilians. A cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the terrorists during the operation, confirming their involvement in anti-state activities.


Security officials said that clearance operations are continuing in the area to eliminate Indian-backed terrorists and to ensure that no remnants are left behind. The armed forces reaffirmed their resolve to completely eradicate terrorism from the country, stressing that such operations will continue until lasting peace is achieved.


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for the successful operation, praising their professionalism and bravery in neutralizing five terrorists. He also expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Major Adeel Zaman, offering prayers for the elevation of his ranks and extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.


The Prime Minister said that Pakistan’s security forces are achieving continuous successes in the fight against terrorism and that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces in this critical battle. He reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to eliminate all forms of terrorism from the country.


President of Pakistan also lauded the security forces for the successful operation against Fitna-al-Khawarij in Bajaur. He described the elimination of five terrorists as a reflection of the forces’ high professional standards. The President paid tribute to Major Adeel Zaman’s courage and supreme sacrifice, stating that his martyrdom is a source of pride for the entire nation.


He further emphasized that under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, counter-terrorism actions will continue with full force until peace and stability are fully restored across Pakistan.
