Indian Media Admits Sydney Attacker Had Links to Hyderabad, India


Indian media has acknowledged that one of the attackers involved in the recent deadly incident in Sydney had links to the Indian city of Hyderabad, confirming details about his origin and background.


According to Indian media reports, the attacker, identified as Sajid Akram, originally belonged to Hyderabad and migrated from India to Australia in 1998. The admission comes amid ongoing investigations into the deadly attack that shocked Australia.


Reports further stated that Sajid Akram obtained Australian citizenship at the time of his son’s birth. During the past 27 years, he had reportedly travelled to India at least three times, raising questions about his movement history and background.


Indian media added that following the incident, Australian authorities contacted Indian officials to obtain further information regarding the attacker’s background and travel details as part of the ongoing investigation.


Investigations into the incident are still underway, and Australian authorities have yet to release further official details regarding the motive and circumstances surrounding the attack.


It is pertinent to note that two days ago, a shooting incident took place at Bondi Beach in Sydney, where two attackers opened fire. The incident resulted in the deaths of 16 people, including one of the attackers, while at least 40 others sustained injuries.
