Lionel Messi has won the MLS Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the second consecutive season, capping off a record-breaking year in which he guided Inter Miami to multiple major titles, including the MLS Cup.
Messi delivered an extraordinary regular-season performance, scoring 29 goals and providing 19 assists, helping Inter Miami clinch the Supporters’ Shield. He continued his dominance in the playoffs, steering Miami to a 3–1 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS Cup final, where he was also named MLS Cup MVP.
Across all competitions this season, Messi amassed 43 goals and 28 assists in 49 appearances, rewriting several league records and dismissing early doubts about how he would adapt to Major League Soccer.
Speaking after receiving the award, Messi said, “It’s always nice to receive individual awards, but I want to share it with my teammates.” The Argentine star has now won four major trophies in three seasons with Inter Miami.
MLS Commissioner Don Garber praised Messi’s continued brilliance, calling him “an inspiration for young players dreaming big.”
Messi's back-to-back MVP honors further solidify his impact in the United States and reaffirm his status as one of football’s greatest icons.
