Security forces killed nine militants during separate operations conducted in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said on Monday. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that the actions were part of ongoing efforts to eliminate terrorist threats in the province.
According to ISPR, four militants were killed in an exchange of fire during a security operation in Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan). In a separate intelligence-based operation in Bannu, security forces neutralized five more militants.
The military said the militants, described as khawarij, were involved in multiple acts of terrorism allegedly carried out with Indian backing. They were also reportedly linked to attacks targeting security personnel and innocent civilians.
During the operations, security forces recovered weapons and ammunition from the killed militants, indicating their active involvement in armed activities, the statement added.
ISPR emphasized that clearance operations will continue in the affected areas to ensure the elimination of any remaining terrorist elements.
The army spokesperson said the campaign against terrorism will persist under the framework of the National Action Plan until its complete eradication. Law enforcement agencies, he added, remain fully committed to restoring lasting peace and security in the region.
