Pakistan clinched the Under-19 Asia Cup title after a commanding victory over arch-rivals India in the final, producing a dominant all-round performance to seal the championship. Pakistani players celebrated the historic win on the field, offering prostration of thanks after lifting the trophy.
Batting first, Pakistan posted a massive total of 348 runs, putting India under immense pressure from the outset. India, in response, were bowled out for just 156 runs, handing Pakistan a comprehensive victory by a huge margin.
The final, played in Dubai, saw India win the toss and opt to field first — a decision that proved costly. Pakistan’s batters capitalized fully, building partnerships and maintaining a strong scoring rate throughout the innings.
Star batter Sameer Minhas produced a sensational innings, scoring 172 runs off 113 balls. His knock included 17 boundaries and nine towering sixes, anchoring Pakistan’s innings and setting the tone for the final. Ahmed Hussain added 56 runs, while Usman Khan contributed 35. Farhan Yousaf scored 19, Hamza Zahoor 18, Muhammad Siyam 13, Naqab Shafiq 12, Shayan 7, and Subhan added 2 runs.
India’s bowling attack struggled to contain the run flow. Dipesh claimed three wickets, while Khalan Patel and Hanil Patel picked up two wickets each. Kanshik Chauhan took one wicket.
Chasing a daunting target of 348, the Indian batting lineup collapsed under pressure from Pakistan’s disciplined bowling. Dipesh top-scored for India with 36 runs, followed by Suryavanshi with 26, Khalan Patel with 19, George with 16, and Kandu with 13. Six Indian batters failed to reach double figures.
Pakistan’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance, with Ali Raza taking four wickets. Muhammad Siyam, Abdul Subhan, and Huzayfa Ahsan claimed two wickets each to wrap up the Indian innings swiftly. Sameer Minhas was named both Player of the Match in the final and Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performances.
