Pakistan has expressed grave concern over a provocative protest held outside the Pakistani Consulate in the British city of Bradford, during which demonstrators allegedly issued explicit death threats against Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
According to official sources, the protest was organized by mobilizing demonstrators through the official social media account of a Pakistani political party operating in the United Kingdom. During the demonstration, protesters used inflammatory and objectionable language against the Field Marshal and openly threatened to assassinate him, including calls for killing him through a car bomb attack.
The Government of Pakistan has taken serious notice of the incident, terming the remarks made during the protest as extremely dangerous and unacceptable. Officials emphasized that such actions go far beyond the bounds of freedom of expression and amount to direct incitement to terrorism.
Pakistan has urged the British government to ensure that its soil is not used for activities aimed at destabilizing Pakistan or threatening the lives of its leadership. The government stressed that those involved in issuing violent threats must be dealt with strictly under the law.
Islamabad further stated that it expects British authorities to take immediate and decisive action against the individuals responsible, ensuring that they are brought before the courts. Pakistani officials reiterated that safeguarding diplomatic missions and preventing hate-driven or violent protests is a shared international responsibility under diplomatic norms.
The incident has raised serious questions about the misuse of political platforms abroad and the need for stronger oversight to prevent extremist rhetoric and threats of violence under the guise of protest.
