Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has stated that Pakistan is steadily and surely progressing toward stability, broader opportunities, and national dignity due to coordinated efforts between the government and the armed forces, coupled with the unwavering support of the Pakistani people.
The remarks were made during the 273rd Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HI (M), Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces. The conference conducted a comprehensive review of the internal and regional security environment, ongoing counterterrorism operations, and the overall operational preparedness of the armed forces.
At the outset, the forum offered Fateha for the martyrs from the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians who lost their lives in recent terrorist incidents. Participants paid rich tribute to those who laid down their lives defending the motherland against terrorism, including acts allegedly sponsored by hostile foreign elements.
The Army Chief praised the unwavering courage, professionalism, and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces, commending their resolute intelligence-based counterterrorism operations carried out across the country in recent months. He reaffirmed the military’s commitment to eliminating terrorism in all its forms.
Conference participants conducted an in-depth assessment of internal and external security challenges, emphasizing the need for sustained operational readiness. The forum reiterated its resolve to take decisive and indiscriminate action against all terrorists, their facilitators, and supporters, particularly those operating under Indian patronage.
The forum categorically rejected any nexus between terrorism, criminal networks, and political interests, declaring that no individual or group—regardless of political affiliation—would be allowed to undermine national unity, security, or stability. Participants also reaffirmed their determination to thwart all attempts aimed at creating divisions between the armed forces and the public.
The conference lauded the Balochistan government’s special development initiatives, noting their role in empowering local communities and addressing the root causes of terrorism through social engagement and economic uplift. Participants stressed the need to replicate similar public-focused development measures in other regions in line with the National Action Plan to ensure sustainable peace and stability.
The forum reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and their legitimate struggle. It also reiterated Pakistan’s principled stance on the Palestine issue, calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, unhindered humanitarian assistance, and a credible pathway toward the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.
Concluding the conference, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir directed commanders to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness, discipline, training, physical fitness, and the effective integration of modern technology to meet contemporary battlefield requirements. He expressed full confidence that the Pakistan Army possesses the capability to counter conventional, sub-conventional, hybrid, and asymmetric challenges to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
