Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday paid glowing tribute to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their courage and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, stating that their resilience and willingness to lay down their lives played a decisive role in restoring peace and stability in the country.
Addressing a public gathering, the prime minister said history would always remember the sacrifices of the people of KP. He added that the Pakistan Armed Forces taught India a lesson during the conflict of May 6 and 10 that it would never forget, calling the May 10 victory a result of national prayers and the bravery of the armed forces that brought honor to Pakistan on the global stage.
Shehbaz Sharif announced several major initiatives in the education sector, including the distribution of laptops across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said talented youth from all provinces would be provided merit-based opportunities for advanced training, particularly in the agricultural sector.
Highlighting the role of youth, the prime minister said young people are the nation’s true heroes and architects of the future, adding that Pakistan’s progress is closely tied to empowering its younger generation. He recalled that during his tenure as chief minister of Punjab, he had sent 600 students to China to learn the Chinese language.
The prime minister also announced multiple development projects for Haripur, including the establishment of a Danish School, a separate campus for women, construction of a bridge, and the provision of quality education facilities in the area.
He stated that Pakistan has achieved macroeconomic stability and now needs to move toward higher levels of development. Urging the public to face challenges with determination, he said Pakistan would progress through hard work, unity, and brotherhood, not through shortcuts.
Emphasizing national unity, Shehbaz Sharif called for collective cooperation among all four provinces, stating that Pakistan could only become a great nation if all provinces advanced together. He stressed that progress in economic and educational fields must match the momentum achieved in the defense sector.
The prime minister also praised the courage of Maham Batool and underscored the importance of respecting the culture and traditions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reaffirming the government’s commitment to inclusive development across the country.
