Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has emphasized that safeguarding the rights of religious minorities is a fundamental pillar of Pakistan’s ideology, rooted in constitutional values and the vision of the country’s founding leadership.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Field Marshal visited Christ Church in Rawalpindi, where he participated in Christmas celebrations alongside members of the Christian community. During the visit, he extended warm Christmas greetings and conveyed his best wishes for peace, harmony, and prosperity.
Paying tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on his birth anniversary, Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted that equality, religious freedom, and adherence to constitutional principles form the foundation of Pakistan, in line with the vision of the Father of the Nation.
He stressed the importance of interfaith harmony and national unity, stating that the true strength of Pakistan lies in equal opportunities for all citizens and unwavering commitment to constitutional values. Reiterating his stance, he said the protection of minority rights is not only a constitutional obligation but also an essential component of Pakistan’s national identity.
The Field Marshal also acknowledged the valuable contributions of the Christian community toward national development and security. He praised the generations-long service of Christian citizens in the Pakistan Armed Forces, calling it a proud example of patriotism and national cohesion.
Assuring the community of the military’s commitment, he said the armed forces remain fully dedicated to protecting the equal rights of all citizens without discrimination. Christian leaders present on the occasion expressed gratitude for the visit and appreciated the role of the armed forces in promoting unity, tolerance, and inclusion across society.
