Pakistan’s security forces have killed 13 militants during two separate counterterrorism operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The ISPR said that an intelligence-based operation carried out in Mohmand district resulted in the killing of seven militants, while a separate operation in Bannu led to the elimination of six more. These actions were conducted on December 12 and 13 as part of ongoing efforts against the banned militant group referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij.

During the operations, security forces effectively targeted militant hideouts, causing significant damage to their operational capabilities. Clearance operations are still underway in the affected areas to eliminate any remaining threats, the military’s media wing added.

The ISPR reaffirmed that security forces remain fully committed to eradicating terrorism from the country. The nationwide counterterrorism campaign under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam is continuing with full force to ensure lasting peace and stability.

President Asif Ali Zardari praised the security forces for their successful operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, commending their professionalism and bravery. He also appreciated the forces for conducting effective actions against terrorists in Balochistan.

The President emphasized that safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty is the top national priority and vowed that all hostile conspiracies would be thwarted. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also lauded the security forces for the two successful operations, stating that the entire nation stands united with the armed forces in the fight against terrorism.
