Global pop superstar Taylor Swift has finally revealed which of her songs she considers her personal favorite. Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday, December 10, the 35-year-old singer-songwriter was asked to name her “top five” tracks — a tradition Colbert said had already been honored by icons like Elton John, Dolly Parton, and Bruce Springsteen.
Swift initially appeared stunned by the question, calling it “so much pressure,” and jokingly asked for extra time to reflect on her vast catalog of music. “I think I require a little time to appreciate my work, and it’s constantly changing,” she said with a laugh.
However, she did confirm one song that would unquestionably sit at the top of her list: the 10-minute version of her fan-favorite track “All Too Well.”
The audience erupted into cheers as Swift named the critically acclaimed song as her number one pick.
The singer also hinted at her deep connection with the tracks on her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, describing herself as “obsessed” with the new material. She added that “Mirrorball,” from her 2020 album Folklore, would also earn a place somewhere in her evolving top five.
Swift’s revelation comes as fans continue to debate their own favorite songs from her 17-year-long career, which spans multiple genres and record-breaking albums.
