Pakistan, China Reaffirm Commitment to Peace, Development at 7th Strategic Dialogue

Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting peace, development, and prosperity in the region and across the world during the 7th Pakistan–China Strategic Dialogue, according to a joint communiqué issued after the talks.


The dialogue was co-chaired by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Chinese counterpart in Beijing. Ishaq Dar visited China on the invitation of the Chinese foreign minister as part of high-level diplomatic engagements between the two close allies.


According to the joint statement, both sides held detailed discussions on cooperation across a wide range of sectors, including strategic, political, defense, and security matters. The talks underscored the depth of bilateral ties and mutual trust between the two countries.


The two sides also agreed to further enhance cooperation in economic, trade, and investment sectors, reaffirming their commitment to shared growth and long-term development. Regional issues, including counterterrorism efforts in Afghanistan, were discussed, with both countries emphasizing the need to eliminate terrorism for regional stability.


Pakistan and China reiterated their positions on key international issues, including the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute. The communiqué emphasized the importance of cultural exchanges, people-to-people contacts, and closer coordination on regional and global matters.


Both countries pledged to strengthen strategic communication, safeguard shared interests, and promote socio-economic development. The two sides also agreed to launch commemorative activities marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.


The joint statement described Pakistan and China as “all-weather strategic cooperative partners,” highlighting that bilateral relations are built on iron-clad friendship and strong strategic mutual trust. Pakistan also congratulated China on the successful completion of its 14th Five-Year Plan.
