Pakistan, Indonesia Agree to Strengthen Defence Cooperation Amid Regional Security Challenges

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met Indonesia’s Defence Minister at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to discuss matters of mutual interest, regional security developments, and the future of defence cooperation between Pakistan and Indonesia.


According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting included a detailed exchange of views on the evolving security environment at both regional and global levels. Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral defence collaboration in response to emerging challenges.


The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in military training, defence production, and strengthening institutional linkages between the armed forces of the two countries. Indonesia’s delegation highly appreciated the professional capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged Pakistan’s significant sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.


During the meeting, the Indonesian defence minister expressed strong interest in further deepening defence relations with Pakistan. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining long-term, stable, and mutually beneficial defence ties with Indonesia.


Both countries agreed to continue working closely to promote regional peace, stability, and security through sustained cooperation and strategic engagement.
