The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has officially expanded with the inclusion of two new franchises—Hyderabad and Sialkot—marking a major milestone in the league’s growth ahead of PSL Season 11.

The franchise auction was held at the Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad, where nine parties participated in the bidding process following the withdrawal of Ali Tareen. The event was broadcast live by Pakistan’s first dedicated sports channel, Geo Super.

The Hyderabad franchise became the league’s seventh team after being acquired by FKS Group for Rs 175 crore. Team owner Fawad Sarwar expressed emotional attachment to the city, stating that Hyderabad was always their first choice due to personal roots and long-standing association with the region.

The bidding for the eighth franchise witnessed intense competition, eventually won by OZI Developers, who secured the Sialkot team for Rs 185 crore. Sialkot, known globally for its sports manufacturing industry, now earns representation in the country’s premier T20 tournament.

Overall, the two new franchises were sold for a combined value of Rs 360 crore, significantly boosting the PSL’s commercial strength and national footprint. With the addition of Hyderabad and Sialkot, the total number of teams in the league has now increased to eight.

The Pakistan Super League Season 11 is scheduled to take place from 26 March to 3 May 2026, promising a bigger, more competitive tournament with expanded regional representation.
