The producers of the highly anticipated Bollywood thriller King have officially announced that the film will release in cinemas worldwide on December 24, 2026. The movie marks a major collaboration between Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and renowned director Siddharth Anand.
The release date was revealed through a stylised teaser, arriving just months after the film’s first trailer created massive buzz on Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday in November 2025. Since then, excitement around the project has continued to grow among fans and industry insiders alike.
A Dark and Gritty New Avatar
In the latest teaser, Shah Rukh Khan is seen in a striking new look, with silver-streaked hair and an intense, commanding presence. Standing atop a mountain, his character exudes power and menace, hinting at a darker, more ruthless persona than seen before.
The teaser emphasizes high-octane action and firmly establishes SRK as a feared mob boss. This portrayal builds on an earlier glimpse where Khan delivered a chilling monologue while holding a King of Hearts card, declaring himself a criminal with countless crimes across nations, known to the world by a single name — King.
Massive Cast and Production Scale
Produced jointly by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, King features a star-studded ensemble cast. Suhana Khan will appear in her first theatrical release following her debut in The Archies (2023). The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, and veteran actor Anil Kapoor.
Fans have flooded social media with praise for Shah Rukh Khan’s rugged transformation, calling it one of his most powerful looks in years. With its Christmas release window, blockbuster-scale production, and an ensemble cast, King is already being seen as a strong contender for one of the biggest box-office successes of 2026.
