Sindh Revises School Timings Due to Cold Weather, Punjab Extends Winter Vacations

The Sindh government has issued a notification revising school timings across the province in response to severe cold weather conditions, aiming to safeguard students’ health and ease their daily commute.

According to the notification, all public and private schools in Sindh will open at 9:00 am for the next two weeks. Authorities clarified that after schools close, the timetable for students will remain unchanged and continue as per routine.

Officials said the decision was taken keeping in view the well-being of students and the challenges posed by cold weather, particularly during early morning hours. The revised timings will remain in effect until January 26.

The Sindh Education Department has urged parents and teachers to adjust their schedules in line with the new school timings to ensure continuity of education and student safety during the winter season.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Higher Education Department has also announced an extension in winter vacations. A formal notification has been issued, directing all concerned institutions to comply with the revised schedule.

According to the notification, all public and private colleges across Punjab will reopen on January 19. Educational institutions have also been instructed to conduct examinations according to a revised schedule to prevent any disruption to academic activities.

The Punjab Higher Education Department stated that the decision was made in light of severe weather conditions and to facilitate both students and teaching staff during the winter period.
