His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, arrived in the Indian capital on Monday afternoon for a historic official visit aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally received the UAE President at the Palam Air Base, breaking protocol to warmly welcome him. Prime Minister Modi described Sheikh Mohamed as his “brother” and said the visit reflects the UAE leadership’s strong commitment to deepening ties with India.
Images shared by the Indian Prime Minister showed a cordial and affectionate reception, with both leaders embracing, exchanging firm handshakes, and walking together following the red-carpet welcome. The UAE President was also presented with a cultural programme featuring traditional Indian music and dance performances.
The visit is expected to focus on expanding cooperation in key areas including strategic partnership, trade and investment, defence, technology, and cultural exchanges. Both sides are scheduled to hold high-level bilateral talks during the visit.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and several senior ministers and officials.
The visit builds on recent high-level engagements between the two countries, including earlier visits by senior UAE leaders, highlighting the growing momentum in India-UAE relations and their shared vision for regional and global cooperation.
