Pakistan secured their first victory in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup with a convincing six-wicket win over Scotland in a group-stage match played in Harare on Tuesday.
Batting first, Scotland were bowled out for 187 runs in 49 overs. Captain Thomas Knight top-scored with 37 runs, while Finlay Jones contributed 33 and Ollie Jones added 30 to the total.
Pakistan’s bowling attack was led by fast bowler Ali Raza, who claimed four wickets for 37 runs. Momin Qamar provided strong support, taking three wickets for 46 runs to restrict Scotland to a modest total.
In reply, Pakistan chased down the 188-run target comfortably, reaching the total in the 44th over with the loss of four wickets. The run chase was controlled and steady, reflecting Pakistan’s dominance in the match.
Usman Khan played a match-winning knock of 75 runs, while Ahmed Hussain scored a valuable 47 to guide Pakistan to victory. Their partnership ensured there were no late scares in the chase.
The win marked Pakistan’s first success in the tournament, following their opening-match defeat against England in the Under-19 World Cup.
