A delegation of senior officials from a Chinese electric company met with Sindh ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon and Nasir Hussain Shah to discuss investment opportunities and cooperation in the energy sector.
According to a statement, the meeting focused on improving Sindh’s electricity infrastructure, renewable energy projects, and investment in modern transmission systems. The Chinese officials expressed their interest in expanding power generation and distribution projects in the province, particularly in solar and wind energy.
Sharjeel Memon, Sindh’s Information and Transport Minister, welcomed the delegation and emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting renewable energy as a sustainable solution to meet growing power demand. Local Government Minister Nasir Shah highlighted Sindh’s potential in clean energy, saying the province is ready to facilitate foreign investors in the energy sector.
The Chinese delegation assured full cooperation and said that their company is keen to strengthen energy partnerships with Pakistan, particularly in Sindh, given the province’s strategic importance in Pakistan’s energy roadmap.
Officials noted that follow-up meetings will be held to finalize potential projects aimed at boosting energy supply and reducing power shortages.
