Punjab Chief Minister inaugurated newly installed modern medical machinery at Mayo Hospital on Tuesday, marking a major step forward in strengthening healthcare facilities in the province.
According to officials, the new equipment includes advanced diagnostic machines, surgical instruments, and intensive care technology aimed at improving patient care and reducing the burden on existing hospital resources.
The Chief Minister stated that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to upgrading public healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that citizens have access to quality medical treatment. He added that improving facilities at teaching hospitals like Mayo will also enhance medical training for doctors and paramedics.
Hospital management expressed hope that the new machinery would significantly reduce patient waiting times and allow for early detection of critical illnesses. Citizens also welcomed the move, saying that modern healthcare technology was long overdue in public hospitals.
The Punjab government has announced plans to extend similar upgrades to other major hospitals across the province in the coming months.
