The recent dengue outbreak in Peshawar has sparked widespread concern among residents, leading to a sharp increase in demand for mosquito repellents and preventive medicines. Local pharmacies and medical stores report that repellents, mosquito nets, and sprays are selling out quickly as citizens rush to protect themselves from the virus.

According to health authorities, dozens of new dengue cases are being reported daily across the city. Hospitals have been put on high alert, and special dengue wards have been set up to deal with the rising number of patients.

Medical experts are urging the public to adopt preventive measures such as using mosquito repellents, covering water containers, and ensuring cleanliness in and around residential areas. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has also launched fumigation campaigns in several localities to curb mosquito breeding.

Officials warn that if the outbreak is not controlled, the situation could worsen in the coming weeks, especially with changing weather conditions favorable for mosquito growth.
