The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that a strong rain-bearing weather system will impact Karachi starting today, bringing heavy showers and possible urban flooding in low-lying areas of the city.

According to the PMD, the rain system has entered Sindh and is expected to cover the entire metropolitan region. The intensity of rainfall may vary from moderate to heavy, accompanied by gusty winds and occasional thunderstorms.

The Met Office has cautioned that the rain could cause waterlogging on roads, traffic disruptions, and power outages in various parts of the city. Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay away from electricity poles and billboards during the downpour.

Weather experts further added that the current spell of rainfall is expected to continue for the next couple of days, gradually subsiding by midweek.

Municipal authorities and rescue teams have also been put on alert to respond to any emergencies caused by the rain.
