Strong earthquake tremors were felt across several cities in Indonesia, with a magnitude of 6.1 recorded, according to reports.
The quake’s epicenter was located in eastern Indonesia at a depth of around 163 kilometers.
The tremors triggered panic in many areas, forcing residents to rush out of homes and offices. However, no immediate reports of casualties or significant property damage have been confirmed so far.
Experts noted that because the quake struck at a considerable depth, the chances of widespread destruction were relatively low.
Indonesia lies on the seismically active “Ring of Fire,” making earthquakes and volcanic eruptions common in the region.
Authorities have advised citizens to remain cautious and move to safe areas, especially if aftershocks occur.
