Offering improved performance and power efficiency. LOFIC, or Lateral OverFlow Integration Capacitor, allows each pixel to store light uniquely, preserving details in both bright and dark areas of a frame.

The technology depends on the hardware: high-end devices will use advanced LOFIC sensors to dynamically manage light for every pixel, delivering cinematic-quality shots. The latest generation also improves high-dynamic performance, reducing ghosting or smearing issues, and outperforms previous 2nd-gen DCG/DXG sensors in dynamic range.

According to leaks, the Huawei Mate 80 and Xiaomi 17 Pro will be the first to adopt this tech, promising superior imaging in all conditions. Apple is reportedly exploring LOFIC for its own CMOS sensors, but it may not compete with Chinese brands until around 2028.
