In a gesture of goodwill and regional cooperation, the Government of India has donated 20 ambulances to Afghanistan. The ambulances were officially handed over to Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, during a ceremony in Kabul.

The donation is intended to bolster Afghanistan’s medical infrastructure and support emergency healthcare services in remote and underserved areas. Indian officials underscored that this act is meant to expand humanitarian cooperation and deepen bilateral relations.

During the event, Minister Muttaqi extended his gratitude to India, saying that the ambulances would play a crucial role in strengthening healthcare delivery across Afghan provinces. He noted that the assistance comes at a time when the country faces numerous health challenges, including limited access to medical transportation in many regions.

The delivery also carries strategic and diplomatic significance. Analysts believe that by offering humanitarian support, India seeks to maintain constructive ties with Afghanistan, even as regional dynamics evolve.

Officials from both countries expressed hope that this gesture will pave the way for further collaboration in health, infrastructure, and disaster response.
