Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has instructed officials to finalize new franchise agreements for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) without delay, as preparations for the upcoming 10-year contracts enter their final phase.
According to PCB sources, representatives of the PSL’s chartered valuation firm met with Chairman Naqvi in Lahore. The meeting was also attended by PSL CEO Salman Naseer and COO Sameer Syed, where the firm presented a detailed valuation report assessing the league’s financial and commercial worth.
Chairman Naqvi reviewed the report, posed several queries regarding the valuation process, and directed the firm to hold meetings with all franchise owners individually. He emphasized that the new franchise deals would be based on the latest valuation figures to ensure transparency and fair market representation.
The current contracts of six PSL franchises are set to expire in December 2025, while the league is expected to expand to eight teams in the new cycle. Naqvi confirmed that the new agreements will only be signed with eligible franchises meeting PCB’s financial and operational criteria.
