A contingent of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), equipped with the state-of-the-art JF-17 Thunder Block III fighter jets, has arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the bilateral air exercise “Indus Shield Alpha.”
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the PAF contingent comprises both air and ground crew and aims to strengthen mutual cooperation and interoperability between the two friendly air forces.
The PAF aircraft demonstrated exceptional operational capability and endurance, completing a nonstop flight from Pakistan to Azerbaijan. During the long-haul mission, aerial refueling was successfully carried out midair by the PAF’s own IL-78 aerial tanker, reflecting the professional excellence and long-range mission readiness of the Pakistan Air Force.
The “Indus Shield Alpha” exercise focuses on enhancing mutual understanding, combat coordination, and tactical planning between the air forces of Pakistan and Azerbaijan. Designed in line with modern aerial warfare strategies and evolving technological requirements, the drills will enable both nations to boost defense collaboration and joint operational effectiveness.
This exercise underscores Pakistan’s commitment to regional defense cooperation and highlights its growing aerospace and combat readiness capabilities on a global scale.
