The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued an official response after the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) declined to participate in the upcoming Tri-Nation T20 Series, which was set to feature Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan in November 2025.

According to the ACB, it will not take part in the series scheduled in Pakistan next month. Despite the withdrawal, the PCB confirmed that the tournament will proceed as planned in November, with necessary adjustments being made.

A PCB spokesperson stated that the board is exploring replacement options for the third team and that formal arrangements are underway. “We are in the process of finalizing a new team, and a decision will be announced soon,” the spokesperson said.

Following Afghanistan’s withdrawal, the PCB immediately reached out to the Zimbabwe Cricket Board as a potential replacement. Sources indicate that Zimbabwe is the most likely candidate to join the tri-series alongside Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The tournament remains scheduled between November 17 and 29, 2025, with matches to be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore. The new lineup and match schedule are expected to be announced shortly.
