According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted a targeted operation in Tank based on credible intelligence about the presence of India-backed militants. The ISPR said the operation involved heavy exchange of fire and resulted in the death of eight militants.

Military spokespeople stated the deceased were involved in attacks against civilians and security personnel. Following the engagement, large quantities of weapons and explosives were recovered from the area. Security teams are continuing a clearance and sanitization operation to eliminate any remaining threat and secure the vicinity.

The ISPR said the raids form part of ongoing efforts under the campaign titled “Azm-e-Istihkam” aimed at eradicating terrorism. It added that operations will continue at full pace and asserted that, with the nation’s support, the enemies of peace will be decisively defeated. Authorities have not released further details on possible casualties among security forces or any arrests; investigations and area stabilization activities remain underway.
