The hearing of the Toshakhana II case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, was postponed today. The adjournment came after the defense completed the cross-examination of the 19th prosecution witness. The court has scheduled the continuation of the hearing for tomorrow, with the cross-examination of the 20th witness to proceed.
So far, testimonies from all 20 prosecution witnesses have been recorded, with cross-examination completed for 19 of them. Both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were present in the courtroom during the proceedings. Additionally, Imran Khan’s three sisters, Bushra Bibi’s sister-in-law, daughter, son-in-law, Senator Ali Zafar, and PTI leader Mishal Yousafzai were also present during the hearing.
The Toshakhana II case involves allegations that the couple unlawfully retained a Bulgari jewelry set, valued at approximately PKR 75.66 million, which was gifted by the Saudi royal family during their visit to Saudi Arabia. Investigators claim that the undervaluation of the gift resulted in a loss of PKR 32.85 million to the national exchequer.
