U.S. President Donald Trump once again revisited his earlier claims of wartime escalation between Pakistan and India, stating that seven aircraft were shot down during the height of tensions. He made these remarks during a media engagement at the Oval Office, emphasizing that he has prevented multiple conflicts.

Trump claimed that he has halted eight wars so far, and stressed that when the Pakistan-India confrontation escalated, it was dangerously close to becoming a nuclear conflict. According to him, “seven planes were shot down in that war,” though he did not clarify which side’s aircraft or provide detailed evidence.

He added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had told him, “You saved thousands of lives,” a statement Trump interpreted as recognition of his role in de-escalation. The U.S. President noted that the insinuation was directed toward the potentially imminent nuclear war between the two South Asian neighbors.

Later, during a White House event in the Ballroom, Trump again spoke about the Pakistan-India conflict, saying he prefers to stop wars and use trade as a tool for peace. He repeated that in eight months, he prevented eight wars, lamenting that despite these efforts, he has not yet received a Nobel Prize—though he remains hopeful about next year.

Publicly, Trump has made similar assertions before, including statements that six or seven jets were shot down in the India-Pakistan hostilities.

However, independent sources and media outlets note that neither government has confirmed such large-scale aircraft losses in that conflict. In fact, many analysts treat such claims skeptically, citing lack of verification.
