Khawaja Asif criticized the misleading statement of the Afghan Taliban

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has strongly condemned the recent misleading statement by the Afghan Taliban, reaffirming that Pakistan’s political and military leadership are fully united in their stance and that decisive measures against cross-border terrorism will continue.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Khawaja Asif accused the Afghan Taliban of being complicit in terrorism through Indian proxies, adding that the Taliban regime itself is plagued by internal divisions and instability.

He stated, “The oppression of women, children, and minorities reflects the true face of the Afghan Taliban. Even after four years, they have failed to fulfill their global commitments and continue to operate under foreign agendas.”

The Defense Minister emphasized that Pakistan’s Afghan policy is based on national interest and regional peace, noting that there is complete consensus on the country’s approach toward Afghanistan.

Khawaja Asif reiterated, “Pakistan’s political and military leadership are in full harmony. We will persist with decisive actions against cross-border terrorism. False statements cannot change the facts—trust can only be restored through concrete actions.”

The remarks come after Pakistan’s Ministry of Information rejected the misleading claims made by Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid regarding the recent Istanbul talks. According to the ministry, Pakistan had demanded the arrest of terrorists hiding in Afghanistan and even offered to receive them at designated border entry points.

Pakistan reaffirmed that its position remains consistent, emphasizing that Afghanistan’s false allegations contradict the facts and undermine efforts toward regional stability.
