Pakistan secured the T20 series victory against South Africa by defeating the Proteas by 4 wickets in the third and final match of the series. The Green Shirts chased down a target of 140 runs in 19 overs, losing 6 wickets, to seal the series 2-1.
The match, played in Lahore, saw Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha win the toss and opt to field first. South Africa struggled from the very beginning as Shaheen Afridi dismissed two batsmen in the opening over. Despite resistance from Rassie Hendricks, Corbin Bosch, and Ferreira, wickets kept falling at regular intervals.
The Proteas managed to score 139 runs for 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, with Hendricks contributing 34 and Bosch 30 runs. Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets, while Fahim Ashraf and debutant Usman Tariq claimed 2 wickets each.
Chasing 140, Pakistan had a shaky start. Saem Ayub was dismissed without scoring, and Sahibzada Farhan managed 19 runs before getting out. Then Babar Azam and Salman Ali Agha built a responsible partnership, although Agha was caught after scoring 33 runs. Babar Azam contributed 68 runs before his dismissal.
Pakistan successfully reached the target in 19 overs with 6 wickets down, securing a 4-wicket victory and winning the series 2-1 against South Africa.
