Pakistan’s security forces have killed 20 militants in two separate counterterrorism operations conducted across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.

According to ISPR, the first intelligence-based operation (IBO) took place in Shawal, North Waziristan, where eight India-backed militants belonging to the proxy group Fitna al-Khawarij were neutralized. The operation targeted key hideouts used for cross-border coordination and subversive attacks against local populations and security personnel.

In a second major raid conducted in Darra Adam Khel, 12 militants were killed during a fierce exchange of fire. Following the engagement, the area was placed under clearance and sanitization operations to ensure that no sleeper cells or explosive devices remained.

The ISPR stated that these operations are part of Operation Azm-e-Istihkam, an ongoing nationwide campaign to eradicate both domestic and foreign-backed terrorism. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining stability and safeguarding citizens in conflict-prone regions.

“Security forces, aided by advanced intelligence and local coordination, continue to dismantle terrorist networks and protect civilians from potential threats,” the statement said, emphasizing the military’s determination to eliminate any possibility of renewed attacks.
