The Sindh Government is actively pursuing an ambitious development agenda for Karachi, with 756 projects currently in progress to upgrade and modernize the city’s infrastructure, Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said on Sunday.
According to the minister, the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) is working on 76 projects worth over PKR 13 billion, while the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is executing 200 projects valued at PKR 18.36 billion. These initiatives span road construction, drainage improvements, public facilities, transportation upgrades, and urban renewal programs.
Memon added that the Sindh Government is leveraging all available resources to transform Karachi into a modern, secure, and well-facilitated metropolis. He noted that public cooperation has significantly accelerated the progress of development work across the city.
He further stated that the provincial government is actively implementing several major infrastructure upgrades in accordance with contemporary standards. Upon completion, these projects will provide substantial relief to Karachi’s residents by improving mobility, reducing urban stress, and enhancing civic services.
Despite financial and administrative challenges, Sharjeel Memon affirmed that the government remains committed to completing all ongoing development schemes within the stipulated timelines.
