The United Arab Emirates has achieved another major milestone in futuristic transport technology by successfully completing the first test flight of an electric flying taxi, marking a significant step toward its Smart Transport Vision 2030.
According to international media reports, the test flight was conducted between Dubai and Al Ain, taking off from the Marghem desert area and landing safely at Al Maktoum International Airport. The trial demonstrated the UAE’s growing leadership in integrating cutting-edge aviation technology into its urban mobility plans.
Officials stated that the modern electric air taxi can reach speeds of up to 320 kilometers per hour and comfortably accommodate four passengers. The aircraft is designed to be eco-friendly, operating on clean electric power and producing minimal noise compared to conventional aircraft.
Authorities confirmed that the public launch of air taxi services is expected by 2026, offering residents and visitors a revolutionary mode of travel that reduces congestion and travel time across the city.
Meanwhile, Skyports Infrastructure Company has begun constructing the first air taxi station near Dubai International Airport, which will serve as a key hub in the UAE’s plan to build a fully connected and sustainable aerial transport network by 2030.
This successful test flight positions the UAE among the world’s leading nations pioneering urban air mobility, setting the stage for a new era of smart, sustainable, and futuristic transport solutions.
