The bidding process for the inclusion of two new teams in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has produced highly encouraging and unprecedented results, reflecting the league’s growing global appeal. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), a total of 12 parties have formally submitted bids to acquire ownership rights for the new franchises.

The PCB announced that the response to the PSL tender has exceeded expectations, with interested bidders representing five different continents. These include parties from the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan, underlining the league’s expanding international recognition and commercial value.

The board confirmed that the formal bidding process will take place on January 8 at the Islamabad Convention Centre, where the rights for the two new PSL teams will be awarded through a structured and competitive procedure.

In an official statement, the PCB reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the entire bidding process remains transparent, competitive, and in line with international best practices. The board emphasized that maintaining credibility and strengthening the future of the league remain top priorities.

The addition of two new teams is expected to further expand the HBL Pakistan Super League, enhance competition, attract new audiences, and create fresh commercial opportunities, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament.
