Google has redesigned its popular Translate service by integrating its advanced Gemini artificial intelligence model, aiming to significantly improve the quality and accuracy of language translations.

According to the company, the upgrade focuses particularly on enhancing translations of idioms, proverbs, and example-based sentences, areas where traditional translation tools often struggle to capture true meaning and context.

Google said users will be able to experience this state-of-the-art translation quality across Google Search, as well as on Android and iOS devices through the Google Translate app.

The rollout of the updated Translate service is beginning in the United States and India, where users will initially have access to translations in English and nearly 20 other languages. Google plans to expand language support gradually as the feature develops.

In addition to improved text translations, Google is also introducing a new real-time translation experience through headphones. This feature allows users to listen to live translations during conversations, making cross-language communication more seamless.

The live translation via headphones is currently an experimental feature. To use it, users must connect headphones, open Google Translate, and tap on the “Live Translate” option.

This experimental feature is being introduced for Android users in the United States, Mexico, and India, and it supports more than 70 languages. Google also confirmed that feedback tools designed to help users learn different languages within Google Translate are being further improved.
