The federal government has announced new prices for petroleum products in Pakistan, keeping the price of petrol unchanged while reducing the rate of high-speed diesel, according to an official notification.
As per the notification, the price of petrol has been maintained at Rs263.45 per litre. Authorities decided not to increase or decrease the petrol rate for the current pricing cycle.
Meanwhile, the government has reduced the price of high-speed diesel by Rs14 per litre. Following the cut, the new price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs265.65 per litre, providing relief to consumers and the transport sector.
Officials said the revised prices were determined after reviewing international oil prices and domestic economic factors. The reduction in diesel prices is expected to ease inflationary pressure, particularly on goods transportation.
The notification further stated that the new petroleum prices will come into effect from 12:00 midnight tonight and will remain applicable until December 31.
The government has formally issued the notification, confirming that the revised rates will be enforced nationwide during the stated period.
