Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam’s stint in the Big Bash League (BBL) has come to an end after Sydney Sixers confirmed that he will no longer be available for the remainder of the tournament.


In an official statement shared on social media, the Sydney Sixers announced that Babar Azam has been recalled to join Pakistan’s national team camp ahead of upcoming international assignments. The franchise stated that the star batter was required immediately for national duty.


The Sixers clarified in their tweet that Babar Azam will miss the remaining matches of the BBL finals series due to his departure. The franchise also expressed gratitude to the Pakistani batter for representing the team during the tournament.


Sydney Sixers thanked Babar Azam for his contribution and professionalism, acknowledging his presence as a valuable addition to the squad during the league stage of the competition.

It is worth noting that Sydney Sixers are scheduled to face Hobart Hurricanes in the Challenger Final on Saturday. The winner of the match will qualify for the BBL Final, where they will take on Perth Scorchers on Sunday.
